Las charlas TED son un descubrimiento medianamente reciente. Creo que la primera vez que caí en su website, fue cuando Manuel me envió una charla en clave de comedia. Recuerdo la página, recuerdo que curioseé, pero no la añadí a mis favoritos en entonces. Fue cuando vi este vídeo, cuando me interesé por el concepto y el formato de las charlas. Ahora los sigo en facebook y en su página oficial.

Esta semana tuve MUCHA suerte de estar en el lugar correcto en el momento adecuado, además de contar con buenos amigos. Gracias a Ron y a la gente de Dibujo a Domicilio, pude acudir a mi primera charla TEDx.
Empecemos primero por las presentaciones.
Dibujo a Domicilio (AKA DaD) es una iniciativa, donde un grupo de ilustradores visita semanalmente un hogar distinto y hacen una sesión de dibujo al natural de los integrantes de la casa. El objetivo es contar con modelos diferentes todas las semanas para mejorar como dibujantes, así como conocer nuevas personas y pasar un buen rato. Las sesiones se llevan a cabo sobre todo en Madrid, así que madrileños… anímense e inviten a este grupo a sus casas! Para más información pueden visitar su blog o su fan page. ¿Dónde se une esto con TEDx?, pues que en esta ocasión los chicos de DaD iban a participar en una jam session de música y dibujo, donde en uno de los intermedios de las conferencias y a ritmo de Jazz, la meta era a crear un collage en vivo y directo, mientras Daniela (quien coordina el grupo) estaba entre el público haciendo unos retratos brutales de los ponentes.
La puesta en escena de la jam fue genial… aquí hay un vídeo que editó Ron después del evento y donde se aprecia el proceso de trabajo durante 18 minutos de improvisación.
Por otro lado, las charlas del día fueron muy interesantes, giraron en torno a la creatividad y las musas que marcan nuestras vidas, la sostenibilidad de nuestros estilos de vida, y cómo convertir el aprendizaje y los espacios culturales en un juego.
De todas ellas saqué una conclusión positiva y alentadora. De cierta forma me alegra ver a tantas personas distintas llevando a cabo tantos proyectos interesantes y diferentes, tantas ideas que se convierten en realidad. Por momentos me da la sensación de que el mundo no está tan extraordinariamente perdido, como parece en las noticias de las 3. Creo que aún hay esperanza. Existen cientos de personas tratando de cambiar el mundo, y eso son excelentes noticias.
Sueño con compartir en una de estas charlas mi proyecto M52. Así que desde hace unas semanas me he dedicado a escribir y tratar de contactar con los distintos organizadores que las llevan a cabo en Madrid. Veamos si hay suerte! 🙂

The TED talks are a very recent discovery for me. The very first time I visited their official website, was a few years ago, when my friend Manuel, sent me the video of a comediant. Was a very inspirational talk. I remember I took a look around the site, but didn´t added to my online favorites then. Was a few year latter, when I saw this other video, when I got interested on the format and concept of this talks. Nowadays I follow them on facebook and website.

This week I´ve been very lucky to be in the right place on the right moment, and also by having great and awesome friends. Thanks to Ron and the Dibujo a domicilio artists, I was able to attend to my firsts Tedx Talks! No streaming ones! TEDx LIVE ON MADRID!
Ok, lets start first with a few introductions.
Dibujo a Domicilio (from now on D.A.D.) wich means something like «take away drawing», and is a group of artists and illustrators that weekly visists a different home (on Madrid) in order to draw live, the members of the hosting family. The main objetive of this group is improve their drawing skills, meet new people and spend a good time. They normally visit families on Madrid (rarely go out of the city for a drawing session, but is not imposible) so people for Madrid, ask them for a session! You can contact them through their blog or fan page. And for those, who are already convinced to ask them home, you can ask for an appointment here.
By now, you must be wondering what does D.A.D. has to be with the proyect of this week. Easy! They were participating on a live music and draw jam session during a break of the talks. The objetive was to create a collage inspired on the talks of the day and the jazz music played by the band. And Daniela, coordinator of DaD, very kindly invited me to attend, since I was visiting the city because of Ron´s birthday.
I feel really lucky of have shared seats with her and being able to watch her in action, she is such an awesome artist. Of course, the audience loved the jam session, you can take a look to the creative process on this video.
By other side, the talks where also awesome, they were about creativity, the muses that guide our lives, the sustainability of our life styles, lidership, and how to turn teaching and culture into a game.
I came out with very positive conclusions. I felt very happy to see such differents kinds of people, turning true their ideas and dreams, so many different and great projects being achieve… It made me feel that the world is not that lost after all, even when the afternoon news says so. There still good people out there, doing amazing things to change the world.
Right now I dream with sharing M52 on a TED Talk. So far, I have wrote the organizers of this talks on Madrid to introduce the project, let´s see what happens next!
